Shawnash shares coupons with partners

For the last few years, the Shawnash Institute has worked to provide healthy fruits and vegetables to food insecure persons and families by supporting matching value coupons at the Oak Park Farmers’ Market. LINK card holders receive a dollar for dollar match up to $25 per market visit. The coupons are valid until the end of the market season, the last Saturday in October. This helps stretch the family food budget for the purchase of nutritious food.

However, many food insecure families do not have access to LINK benefits. Shawnash is helping to serve that segment of the population by developing a network of partner organizations and providing their staffs with Farmers’ Market coupons that are not tied to LINK qualification. We believe that our partnering churches, hospitals and social service organizations are well equipped to distribute the coupons to those in need. So far, in 2018 these organizations are giving out matching value coupons provided by Shawnash:

Shawnash continues to expand this good food network. If your organization is an ideal match, please enter contact information in the Comment area below.

  1. On September 10th, The Retirement Research Foundation sent check #31742 for $750 to the Shawnash Institute. This check matched a donation made by John Bouman on August 17th. As of this morning, our records indicate that the check has not been cashed.

If you received the check, would you please let me know and then deposit the check right away? If you did not, please let me know and I will order a stop payment and will re-issue the check for you.

Thanks in advance for your attention to this matter.
